With regular cleaning and mindful storage, sterling silver can last a lifetime. Over time, it may develop a patina or light tarnish — both are natural and reversible.

The best way to care for sterling silver jewellery is to wear it often, regular contact with skin helps reduce tarnish —the natural oils on our skin form a protective layer, slowing down the oxidisation process that causes silver to darken.

Avoid contact with water, perfumes, sweat, and lotions, and remove it before showering, swimming, or exercising. While water itself doesn’t damage silver, moisture left behind can accelerate tarnish, especially when combined with heat, humidity, or chemicals like chlorine and soap.

To clean, gently wipe with a soft cloth after each wear to remove oils and moisture. If tarnish appears, you may use the silver polishing cloth provided or a mild silver cleaner. Use light pressure and polish in small circular motions for best results

Sterling silver naturally reacts to air and moisture over time, which can cause tarnishing, especially when stored for long periods. This is especially common when pieces are stored for long periods without proper airflow or protection.

Our soft pouch is perfect for daily use and travel, but for long-term storage, we recommend storing your sterling silver jewellery in an airtight container or ziplock bag with silica to help slow down tarnishing — especially in humid climates.

We use gold vermeil, a premium finish featuring a thick layer of 2.5 microns of gold plated over 925 sterling silver. Its thick gold layer offers durability and helps resist fading and tarnishing longer than standard gold plating.

This makes gold vermeil more durable and longer-lasting than regular gold-plated jewellery, which is often made with a thinner layer of gold over a base metal like brass.

With proper care and storage in a dry environment, gold vermeil can last for years. Fading may still occur over time, especially with frequent contact with water or if stored in a humid space.

Over time, particularly on rings or pieces that experience frequent contact, the plating may begin to wear. This can reveal the sterling silver beneath, but the piece remains solid 925 and fully wearable.

If a more thorough clean is needed, a small amount of diluted baby shampoo can be used. Gently wipe with your fingertips or a soft cloth, rinse briefly with water, and pat dry. Avoid soaking and always ensure the piece is completely dry before storing.

For the best results, store rhodium-plated jewellery in an airtight container with silica to maintain the finish and reduce tarnish over time.

If worn often, a clean, dry tray is also fine. Avoid moisture, direct sunlight, or stacking with other pieces, which may cause scratches or wear.
